Gouramis are a family of fish native to Asia, from Pakistan and India to Malaysia and North towards Korea. Some small dwarf gourami can be kept in an aquarium as small as 40 litres, at around 27°C, with a pH of 6.5-7.2 and KH of 3-5. Many species show parental care and can be aggressive when brooding.
Fish that coexist with Gourami in the aquarium include corys, larger species of tetra, bristlenose catfish, rasbora, angelfish and other community fish that thrive in a tropical environment. Gouramis are not generally fussy eaters and thrive on a diet of Hikari Microwafers and Sera Flora. Whilst occasionally being fed frozen foods such as Hikari Bloodworms or Live Blackworms.
